DescriptionThis page is HISTORICAL !!! a GRAIL page !!!Robin unexpectedly announces that he's giving up his costumed identity—not because he is retiring, but because he intends to take on a new guise, as yet undecided, which will identify him more as the Titans' leader than as the Batman's junior partner. It's the end of Robin, and the birth of Nightwing !!! ![]() Social/Sharing |

Can't believe I'm the first to comment on that page ! Perez and Tanghal were at their peak with that run. Imho, they've never been as good ever again. And what about Wolfman ? Only he had a chance against Claremont at this time. What a great page : all the Titans beautifuly drawn, Dick announcing he'll never be Robin anymore and of course the breathtaking shadow of Batman ! Congrats, that's a Grail !

Ah so YOU won that auction you lucky, lucky, devil
A simply fantastic page, genuinely pivotal to the concept and development of Dick Grayson and Robin, and he has rarely looked better than here. (The reaction shots from everyone are just the icing on this lovely Perez cake)

Only Perez could make a picture of a grown man in green tight (underwear) wearing a mask, looking so normal. Great pick-up.

Beautiful page. This page looks as if it is all Perez to me, especially those superfine details and linework of the reflection of the city in the window with Robin looking out - that looks alot more like Perez's pen inks than Tanghal's brush inks. There is simply no denying that this -- the exact page of Dick Grayson's resignation as Robin -- is a significant piece of DC history. It is also a text book example of great characterization and small moment realism in the world of comics. Congratulations on a terrific acquisition!

I remember this moment in Titans history very well. A truly special page indeed!

Hi Crees, I find it hard to belive that nobody has commented on this perfect Titans page since my 17-year old daugther was 2. I have looked at a lot of George's art over the years, and I tend to think he did the inks on this page, not Tanghal. Or he penciled the hell out of this. This is pure gold.
