I think this one is the best of the lot.

Damn!! It was a tough choice between John Dell and Mark Morales...but when I saw this one...its the gray tones that set it really off. Was that a bonus? That really made this cover "pop"! Hmmmm...I just might have to try this myself on a project... Thank you SO much Ron for doing this...it really shows how you can have a picture, but can see it in so many different ways when others add their own personal touch to it. But to ALL the inkers - wonderful work to each and every one of you.

I LOVE this one, it's the best of the bunch! If you ever want/need to part with it, I'd be happy to take it off your hands!

This one comes at second place for me (after John Dell's piece). Everything here is spot on - the gray tones add a lot, without overpowering the original image. The reason I put it at second place is that it it's not "strict" B&W inking... if other artists would have used ink wash as well, they may have delivered different results (which might have been interesting just as well). It doesn't take away from the triumph of work which Bill Reinhold had created, but it does put it outside of the group. Speaking of ink wash - have you considered trying to get either Jackson Guice or Joe Rubinstein, Bob McLeod to create "ink wash" versions of their own ? I'm sure they could create fascinating stuff.
