Description

This beauty was my very first art acquisition! I remember agonizing over the purchase because it seemed so expensive at the time. Little did I know... In the end, I couldn't resist her mysterious gaze and ruby red lips. My new hero and a fantastic artist himself, Leif Peng was generous enough to take some time and thumb through his magazine collection for me. He directed me to the story for which the final version of this illustration was used, "The Girl With the Glow" by Harriet Frank, Jr., in the February 5, 1955, issue of Saturday Evening Post. I have to confess, I sort of prefer the preliminary sketch to the final painting, as breathtaking as it is. Thanks so much, Leif!

Every masterpiece Georgi does has his special glow - it's his crowning hallmark! I absolutely love all his art! Congratulations on memorializing your collecting beginning with such a beautiful piece!
