Description

This is a lucky eBay find from a comics store who happened to have a few odd pieces of art in stock. It's n oversize (16x23"!) cover from Robert Gould's self-published comic New Legends and shows a style definitely different than the one that made him famous a few years later: KIRBY is the name of the game here, and Gould could channel him just fine, crazy headpiece and Kirby Krackle included.

The board borders are a little rough with a few tears and creases, but as soon as I'll find a large enough frame, this is going on the wall.

Very interesting . . . in addition to the Kirby influence, the style also reminds me of Steranko.
