Description

I typically try not to gush about artwork in my collection, so I apologize if this seems overboard. ;)

After being turned on to his work by seeing examples of it here on CAF, I finally have a Jay Anacleto original, and it is simply a sight to behold. Incredibly intricate ALL PENCIL cover for an upcoming issue of Red Sonja from Dynamite Comics. The detail, shading, line work, is absolutely sick, and the scan does not do this piece justice.

I am absolutely thrilled to finally have a piece and be a part of the "club" of collectors who have and admire Jay's work. No offense intended, but I hope people continue to "overlook" his work - it'll give me the opportunity to get some more before everyone realizes what an incredible talent he is.

A big THANK YOU to Kirk Dilbeck for making this cover available and being a pleasure to deal with. And, of course, my gratitude to Jay for producing this marvel - you are definitely the man.

His work is so goooooood. It is funny how Conan has a crappy haircut (as he should) but some how Red Sonja looks like she just went to the salon!!! In this case, she needed the straigtner to get her curls out. Love this cover!!!!
