Ghost Rider by Ray Fawkes

I probably saw his name on the guest list for the 2009 Small Press Expo (SPX), but it didn't register as someone I needed to see and I don't think I was particularly familiar with his artwork, but Ray Fawkes was hanging out at the Oni Press tables with his portfolio opened to some BEAUTIFUL stuff! I stopped to look through it and was impressed with his work and range. He was charging for sketches, but I felt it would be worth it based on what I saw. In addition to the art being great, he used a calligraphy pen to do this sketch! I had never seen one, much less one used to do a sketch like this, but he'd been a calligrapher in the past so was familiar with it and someone had suggested it as a potentially good tool for his trade. I'd have to agree!
