I was a big fan of the original Charlton, Judomaster book. The book featured nice art work by Frank McLaughlin, better than average stores and the World War II setting made it a different read from all the standard Marvel and DC material of the swinging 60s.

When Paul Levitz brought the Charlton Characters for Dick Giordano, Dick eventually had the opportunity to work on a series dedicated to the entire line.

This brings us to this wonderful splash page that captures all the magic of the original 60s series with a more modern look.

Judomaster and Mike Dunne and a page 1 splash -- I can't think of a more appropriate owner for this nicely laid out and wonderfully illustrated page.

I actually bought this limited series. Tiger turned out to be the villain, if I recall correctly. How great it is to see Judomaster and Tiger in more "innocent" times.
