It looks like it says "Blackbird." John Byrne was supposed to be the artist for the Squadron Supreme mini series in the 80's but he had to back out for some reason. Anyway it's possible this Blackbird character was to be the Squadron's version of Robin.

Considering there was a new Nighthawk who turned out to be the first's adopted son, he could very well have been Nighthawk.
