Sometimes you have a gut feeling and the next thing you know you’ve hit a Grand Slam. That is how I feel about this piece.

I saw Gilbert’s work on Kirk Dillbeck’s CAF. I was so impressed that I made an inquiry to Kirk about dong a JSA or MLJ commission. Gilbert was available and I decided to go with JSA piece. This is one of those cases where the work far exceeded the expectation.

Based on this work and other commission pieces I have seen, Gilbert should be working regularly for the big two in the very near future. I think he’d be perfect for an Earth 2 series featuring the original Justice Society.

Huge thanks to Gilbert for an outstanding commission and tor Kirk Dillbeck for setting it up.

There are so many things that I love about this piece that I am not sure where to begin. I especially like the costumes of Hawkman and Atom.
