Description

From 1990. Neil Gaiman was doing a signing at Dreamhaven Books when it was located in Dinkytown near the U of MN campus. This was back when you could hang and chat with him, as maybe only 50-100 people were at the signing. I handed Neil my sketchbook expecting an autograph and everyone in line was amazed when Neil started to do the following sketch. Neil commented that he sometimes would storyboard a script for an artist and that he liked to do this. When I asked if he ever thought of drawing an issue of Sandman, he demurred, saying that he wasn't THAT good. Everyone in the store disagreed!!
