Description
This issue commemorated the 50th anniversary of the introduction of Green Lantern (Alan Scott). It's one of my favorites. I always thought Gil Kane did the coolest looking capes out there.

The signature was statted & moved over because it would have been covered by the UPC code... as if anyone wouldn't have recognized it as Kane art!

There is a certain "who-could-ask-for-more" quality to this one. Kane was still producing a lot of quality covers during this period, but all the GL's (especially the iconic Alan Scott) make yours rather special.

This is a fantastic cover that hits a number of bases. Very representative of the mythos.

A memorable cover, even more striking in original black and white than in color.  Fantastic Alan Scott image.

I do like the black & white better.  At some point I need to take a better picture.

That's what I thought.  The cape really reminded me of some of his older stuff.

I'm salivating and slobbering over here.  Fantastic!
