Description
Starlin babe in a cosmic suit !!! demons and sorceress in the classic Starlin pose...master inks by Joe Rubinstein ( thanks Joe for the infos ! ) last but not least Alan Weiss assisted Jim in this tremendous cover which had a replacement art done by none other than John Romita sr !!! So many talents for one cover !
vintage art on a great but short lived title ....( 1977 )
My very best ! When you can't buy a vintage Starlin Captain Marvel cover you just have to get close ...
Personnally I prefer the deep Starlin mood rather than the more sexy Romita look of Ms Marvel but that was an editor choice to have Romita redoing many covers to keep the same line to the Marvel Universe ... I believe they did great, afterall it worked so well for so many years !
Finally, holding a Starlin / Romita sr cover is for me the nec plus ultra !

Great cover - I was the ComicLink buy back in 2006 Per Joe R. e-mail: "Starlin drew it,Romita redid Ms M.,Alan Weiss drew the figures on the right and the cloak on the guy on the left. I inked it all." Pretty specific information - compare this to the Miller/Janson debate - Joe's memory is sharp!

I love Janson on Miller ! those DD ish were so special I'm on the side of the I'd buy them all !!! while my heart always goes toward early art so I'd hunt more the Spec SM or the #158.. Also I love Joe R. on Starlin, Miller or Byrne but unfortunatly HE doesn't seem to like me and I seem to have faded out of his sharp memory ...I think I'll have my real Starlin grail cover before he does my recreation commission I've paid for on 2008, or was it 2007 ?? I don't even remember ...!!! so baller ...

Rube never did my commission all paid for, ended up by agreeing to do an equivalent piece offered to Hero Initiative ..;that was so long ago and it is no surprise to me that I never got any news regarding that matter ! I'd say Rubinstein always DID a great job and at today's date he still have ROBBED me of my BIG money ! Collectors BEWARE Sorry Mike nothing against you : )

Very sorry to hear this Romain. Did he possibly move or change e-mail address during that time? When this was all happening? I'd try contacting him again. Just in case there was some kind of screw up in the mail? I've never met Joe or know him. I've just read his comments on mine comments on CAF. But I do know Jerry Ordway very well. A out standing person as well as artist. He's said nothing but very nice things about Joe. I'd try contacting him again possibly to see if he atleast replies. Good Luck!

Starlin envy aplenty on view. Wonder why they did the psate up? Weird. They had some pretty strange editors at Marvel. Some of their decisions were insane.
