I met Steve several years ago at the first Atlanta Comics Expo. I sought him out when I read his con biography stating that he had drawn Rex the Wonder Dog and Detective Chimp. He was the perfect artist for this commission.

This commission was Inspired by the old Superman Family and Super-Team Family giant comics of the late 70s, The multiple stories in these anthologies were featured on the cover.

1) The front cover feature is "It's Not the Great Pumpkin Millie." Lucifer, bored with his "retirement", decides to celebrate Halloween by destroying Creation
one world at a time. He uses his letter of passage to manifest in a pumpkin patch in the pure world of Hoppy the Marvel Bunny. Krypto and Streaky attempt to stop him. As his girlfriend Millie watches from below, Hoppy joins the fray.

The back cover features from top to bottom:
2)"Barrel of Monkeys": Beppo and Proty (in the form of the Shazam Monkey) battle Kamara the Monkey King.

3) Comet the Super Horse, Rex the Wonder Dog, and Detective Chimp are "Fearless Vampire Killers".

4) A new pet is born in "Black Bunny of Death" --Black Adam shares some of his power with a rabbit tor create Captain Black Bunny.

Kamara is a foe of Etrigan the Demon who re-appeared in the 80s iin Saga of the Swamp Thing (drawn by Bissette and Totleben).

Captain Black Bunny is a foe of Hoppy who appeared in Fawcett Funny Animals in the 40s. It seemed only natural to tie him to his apparent human inspiration, Black Adam.

Well, it appears you spent quite a bit of time thinking about this one and I think it paid off. Steve caught the spirit of your idea as well as that of the old DC Family books.
