Marc Silvestri has been one of my favorite comic book artists for years now. His work with Joe Weems over the past 5 years has been my personal favorite era, what a shame it's come to an end.

Congrats buddy! Sweet cover! I'm a big fan of Joe Weems. I think he really gets overshadowed by many of the big name inkers in the industry, but he belongs right up there. This is a great example of Joe bringing out the best in his pencillers. You're probably a bigger Silvestri fan than I am, but this one is a real winner. Congrats again, and enjoy the heck out of it!

Thanks guys! I'm loving this cover right now. It's even better in person. Never had a really nice cover before. Can see why you all love the hobby so much and why Eric only does covers. Eric, completely agree about Weems. Every artist he's worked with is better for it. F

The leader of the X-Men down + cover of one of the best X-Men series ever + by the consistently best X-Men artist of the last 25 years = a killer cover. Congrats for that fantastic addition to your collection. I hope you haven't caught the "covers only" virus : this is a mean one that can get you very sick ;-)

I love all the rubble and smoke and ambient energy! I agree as well that Weems is an underrated talent-- this is such a fabulous piece of art!

Thanks, Silvestri and X-men is definitely a major deal for mel. I was absolutely crazy about as a kid in the 80's and I like his 21st century stuff even more.

thanks lot, I know most fans cherish his original X-men work but the covers he was doing at marvel with Joe Weems are a high point in silvestri's work for me. Now if only I can get on with wolverine....;)

Thanks! I thought Silvesti/Weems really hit their stride during their Marvel cover run a few years back and this was done right in the middle of that prime period. Hope I can get more one day
