Back in the 2000s I asked Don Rosa for a fun pirate piece of Donald and Scrooge fighting over a chest. This is what I got, a great variation on the "Son of the Sun" pose.
What makes this piece a little bizarre, though, was that apparently Picsou, the European Disney publisher, took this drawing off CAF and used it on a cover of collected pirate stories!!
Picsou never asked or said a thing. I found out about this 2 years after it was published. (Incidentally, it was also news to Mr. Rosa!)
'Les Trésors de Picsou 15: Spécial pirates' is the book, an inch thick monster!
So I guess this is now a cover, not a convention sketch? I wouldn't mind it being used for a cover, but it's amazing that they did it without asking. Hahahaha
It's confirmed on Inducks too:
