Description

Superman saves the day! Aside from the perfect capture of the relationship between man and monster in this 2-page sequence, Eric Powell's art combines the surreal and heroic to powerful effect. I was strongly reminded of Max Fleischer's animation when looking at the depictions of Superman and Metropolis. I also love the fact that Powell fit in a cameos of two of his own most famous creations, the Goon and his sidekick Frankie, at the bottom of the page.
