Description

The splash page to "Macho Magic", from Jughead #350, February 1987. Jughead bought a jacket that belonged to an old boxer named Kid Dynamite, who once fought for the title, until he was knocked out. The jacket, it turns out, has magical powers.

Also note the sight gags going on in the background. The guy on stilts features the name Big Sam, an in-gag referring to Samm Schwartz. There's a kid with a saw, up to no good, as we can tell from the "zaw zaw" sound effects in the second panel. Then we hear the *crash* of the stilt guy coming to earth. That stuff makes no sense to the story, but I love it.

This is an example of some excellent and fun storytelling, with an easy, fluid sense to the figures. Wonderful work by Schwartz.
