As a young Marvel reader I loved those ToS stories that Stan and Jack did that were set in World war II. I dreamed of Rick Jones becoming Cap‘s full time partner and their working together in those early Marvel years and loved the Steranko issues. Things never quite worked out that way but here’s Butch Guice’s stunning splash page from issue 604 putting the two characters together in a most unlikely way.

Cap and Bucky, one of the perennial two man teams in history! Guice did them justice, fantastic piece!
