I had been trying to get a sketch off of Mike for a long time. It seemed like every time I saw him at a con, which were many since he hits a lot of them in the northeast, I would just miss the window of opportunity to get one. Or be flat broke. I almost missed him again this time since I was under a time crunch in order to catch a train. The next time i see Mike I'm going to see if he can add Gennsuke (the rhino bounty hunter) to the picture or, barring that, a tokage (lizard).

Mike seemed really psyched about doing this piece. He even asked me to email him the scan and said that he'd pass it along to Stan Sakai himself.

He also mentioned that he's got his own comic about anthropomorphic animals with swords coming out called "The Mice Templar." You may seen the preview in the CBLDF book "More Fund Comics" It's an excellent story about a rogue Templar on the run and fighting off a frog.

This is pin-up worthy for the Yojimbo comic! Love Mike's take on the long eared ronin.
