Sherlock Hound, also called Famous Detective Holmes, was a Japanese/Italian TV series co-production. Hayao Miyazaki directed the first six episodes and wrote some of the scripts. He developed a friendship with Marco Pagot who gave his name to the title character of the film Porco Rosso.
