Veronica 202 : Landmark Introduction of Riverdale's First Gay Character Kevin Keller Page One : Here Comes Veronica !!!

There is always one acquisition that really makes a con. For me it was this one at SDCC 2010: the entire issue of Veronica 202. I had been thinking about this important issue and was so sure that it would be snatched up long before SDCC. I didn't know that Dan Parent would be at SDCC but I had emailed him inquiring about the issue the night before SDCC on a chance that atleast some of the pages would be available. On preview night, I happened on Dan and saw several of the previous issues of Veronica but no 202. I asked him if he was planning to sell it..and he said he just hadn't received it from Archie yet and that I was the first one to ask. I was so excited and during the LGBT panel, Dan said that many after me asked about this important issue. I love this issue for many reasons: because there is lettering on the original pages, because it showcases the true character of each member of the Archie Universe, because it doesn't overanalyze the issue of Kevin Keller being gay, and because it is just such an enjoyable story with so many great beats....
I plan to scan the whole issue -a few pages at a time-with each funny beat...Thanks Dan again for parting with this issue and most of all, thanks for creating Kevin Keller--a character of the times and long overdue...
