Wonder Woman v3 35 pg 21

A rather beat up Wonder Woman heads off to hopefully resolve the situation with Tom (Nemesis). She invites him to share a shower with her and...HE TURNS HER DOWN!. What a man of honour, what a man of principle, what a....schmuck. Seriously though, this is pretty sad, it broke Tom’s heart when Genocide forced Diana to admit she didn’t love him and he doesn’t feel able to go on with the relationship. Of course, in the meantime, Diana maybe HAS fallen in love with him, which makes it all even more poignant. Truth be told the pair of them do seem pretty hopeless at relationships. The panel where he brushes her hair from her face is my favourite element of this page and one of those touching moments we see so few of these days in comics.
