Description

After Trevor's fantastic work on the Blackest Night / Shadow Lass piece, Mon-el had to be next. There were quite a few covers in contention but the Supergirl cover had a great vibe, Trevor did an awesome job with pencils and inks . His coloring of Mon-el was a total suprise, I had no idea that he was going to do that, until I opened the package he mailed. The soft pencils beautifully enhance the ghost effect of a Mon-el in the Phantom Zone, The horror of the Zone is the emptiness and isolation . With that in mind, the faces of his fellow Legionnaires carry that : "so near but yet so very, very, far away feeling ". They are looking through him, not at him. The Legionnaires eyes are mostly inked in as they cannot see. The two exceptions are : Dawnstar ( her tracking power can detect something, even if she cannot fully identify or find it ) and Dream Girl ,who can see him in her visions but not in the real sense. Trevor is just amazing. He just makes this so much fun.
