Jack Binder - Flexo

Flexo the Rubber Man was the very first character to appear in the debut issue of my favorite Timely publication, Mystic Comics (March 1940). In all four of his golden age appearances, the robot rubber man was drawn by Jack Binder. Reportedly inspired by the comic book revitalization started by the Batman craze in the sixties, Mr. Binder got the idea to try and revive some of his own golden age characters. Apparently this sample page was all that was created for Flexo. As none of Mr. Binder's 1940's Flexo artwork is known to have survived, it may be the only remaining example of original artwork featuring this character as depicted by his creator.
