Description

I've long admired Manuel Sanjulian's art and in my ignorance, had only heard but had not really gone looking for his brother Maren's art work until I found this! Good Greif! I believe he's just as good as his brother! He's done a ton of work also and you can see more of it by googling Marenart. This Original oil painting is the cover to Dossier Negro #155 which is a Spanish Horror magazine, c. 1982 by editorial Giesa). The size of it is 13 x 20 inches. I also want to say thanks to Joan and her CAF gallery over at zaalxx for parting with this Beauty. I saw her awhile ago and lets just say her Beauty has been haunting me and so now, no more haunting as the deals done :) I don't speak or read Spanish but the last story on the front cover says "The Girl of the Forest" and so I'll have to figure out if this is her. BTW, one last cool thing that I noticed, as a Conan fan, I believe that's Conan's sword from the movie that she's holding. Hmmm, could she be contemplating the riddle of steal? :)

In 1982 this perfect cover was also used for the German horror novel "Dr. Tods Rache" (issue 230 of the John Sinclair series). I loved it as a teenager and am still fascinated by it. Congratulations on this wonderful work in your great collection!
