Description
YES!!!! Finally!

I finally have a Scott Clark Stormwatch cover from my favorite time period of the book, featuring the major baddie of the time, Despot! I really loved the book during this time period, and you may notice that most of the art I have for Stormwatch is during this period and either right before or after this. This is the penultimate issue before the explosive happenings of issue #25.

In a unique move, issue #25 was released over a year early, between issues 9 and 10, so you were given a glimpse into the future of Stormwatch and saw what devastation would happen. Then you were left wondering how and why and what the hell for over a year!?! So then they had 14/15 issues to get there. This particular cover is from the issue leading into that "revelation" issue, and is the actual issue where all the s**t hits the fan! Awesome, powerful cover image of Despot and the exploding Skywatch space station behind him. Just so cool! Penciled by Scott Clark and inked by Troy Hubbs! (ironically, my buddy Ben and I bought some of the last things Troy had from his inking days just this week. So although I got this at the same time, it was from another collector. So it's just random coincidence that I just posted 4 Troy Hubbs pieces in a row:)

Like several other pieces in my collection, I owe this score to my buddy Ben Bressel. We have a system in place where whoever finds it first on Ebay can call "dibs" and the others will refrain from bidding against the other. Since we were always bidding on the same things and driving the price up really high between us, it seemed like the best plan. Without the other "main competitors" you only have to contend with the rest of the world, who are generally not as fanatical as we are:) So on select items, the price can stay pretty low without the others driving it up. (so it does pay to know your competition;) Ben found this first and called dibs, so I didn't bid at all, but knowing how much I really wanted it, he won it and sold it to me for his cost. How cool is that? Pretty damn cool, I say:) Thanks again buddy! I owe you!

I saw it and considered bidding twice the final bid, but I decided to save my money in the end. Congrats. That cover was a steal.

At least I saved u from spending a few hundred more. Next auction, you're going to have to pay me or risk having me drive the final bid up :)
