Description

Gilbert Shelton and I first became friends in the early 70s when Bud Plant and I used to make regular trips to Rip Off Press world HQ at 17th & Missouri St in San Francisco to pick up resupplies of best selling Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers for mail order and our growing Comics & Comix chain store operation. We blew thru hundreds every week

This fine Wonder Warthog was drawn alongside the pool at the 1977 San Diego Comicon after we got very stoned. Last time I saw Gilbert was at the 2006 Angouleme comics festival. I hope to catch up with him again at the 2012 rendition as I almost healed from having both hip joints replace with metal spike implants on the same day about a year ago now.
