DescriptionMad censored me a bit, but never as much as the Osama parody we did. Not only did Sam Viviano the Art director make me make all the changes here… as further punishment, he cropped in on the panel cutting out almost everything else on the censored page. He was outraged I put all the visual jokes in the background, quote” We had the same problem with Will Elder.”Social/Sharing |

When did Viviano start doing regular work at Mad? The mid-80's? Didn't Elder leave Mad in the mid/late 50's? I had read that he came back for a couple collaborations with Kurtzman, but the ones I've seen didn't have the cluttered "chicken fat" style or dense background jokes.
