My favorite comic series hands down of my youth. One master, Lopez, channeling another, Adams, the art blew me away and was like nothing else on the stands at the time. The series was also my first introduction to Deadman, an amazing character with rich depth and cool powers.
What I like about this page is that we see an unmasked Deadman (possessing his doomed twin Cleveland, such eerie foreshadowing) having a poignant talk with Tiny the circus laborer/strongman (who's body Boston also inhabits often to ill effect). I like that Tiny has a cauliflower ear, it's a great bit of character building (and a unique character trait) that while really never talked about to any extent, gives Tiny a past history as a wrestler. It's neat touches like that that make Deadman comics standout.
Another cool thing about this page, probably only to me, is that I spent most of last winter clearing the woods around our house to make pasture for the arrival of our soon to be grazing alpacas. It was a lot of work over a long period of time for something that has enriched both mine and my wife's life. So looking at this page not only brings me back to my childhood but also to a time of positive change in my life. Funny how lines on paper can connect with a person so strongly.
