Twenty Years After (Danish Cover)

This is the Danish First Edition cover. The comic however had had 2 previous covers, both line-drawn. The first by Robert Burns was the most violent "horror" cover to appear in the Classics series. It showed a floating corpse and was replaced with a soberly bland cover drawn by Henry C. Kiefer in 1949 (see below). The 1960 painted cover by Doug Roea (shown here) was a vast improvement, showing d'Artagnan and the guys in action on horseback, clattering through a darkened Paris street.
