Once again, as I often do this time of year, I have wandered into your Sadako galleries. To say the least, I find your theme to be one of the more philosophical on CAF, and it is interesting to see how different artists interpret a theme that, when it is boiled down to its essence, is one of hope and courage in the face of unfair and unavoidable tragedy. Travis' contribution to this endeavor is one of my favorites. Many of the artists want to show a happy ending with Sadako smiling, free and strong. I think one of the reasons I gravitate to Travis' is that it has a touch of melancholy in its fancy. Even as he has Sadako take off on a magic flight, her expression is one of stoicism. My interpretation is that her ride here is one of acceptance and final release rather than triumph and I find that most fitting.
