Description
Will you please leave a kind word here about Gene* Even if you never met him but admired his work in comics and art..please say a few words or as many words as you like to celebrate this magnificent man.

A moment of silence in the Bronx and all over the world. Gene Colan, one of the greatest comic artists of all time has passed away at the age of 84. As many of you know Gene has battled illness for a long time. The only comfort I can take is in knowing that Mr. C has joined Adrienne and is at peace. My deepest condolences to Gene's son and daughter and surviving family.
A few years back when Gene was having a bad spell I sent an email to him wishing him health. Soon I received a response from Adrienne, assuring me that Gene was getting strong and was warmed by people like me taking a moment to wish him well. I will never forget that as long as I live.
I met Gene Colan many times at the SD Con and he was truly a gentleman and a giant artistic talent.

Gene, You always treated me and my buddy Dan so well when we would sit and watch you skecth. I still have photos and memories that will stay with me always.
God bless and keep this good man and may you rest in peace Gene. Love Mike Dan and all of your fans

He was without a doubt a Marvel Legend... his contributions to Marvel and our imaginations are a testament to his amazing talent.

This is from Clifford Meth on his web site Sunday June 26: Gene was put to rest today with dignity and tears, surrounded by family and friends and sent off with a military honor guard marking his service to his country during World War II. It was humbling and warming and memorable.

The comic book industry has lost one of it's true giants in gentleman Gene Colan, an artist with a unique style that made characters such as Daredevil, Iron Man, Sub-Mariner, Dracula and Howard the Duck a pleasure to read.
I never met Gene, but was always a huge fan, and I will treasure the great pages that I own from this great artist.
Rest in peace, and god bless your family.

I've admired Gene's art almost all my life having plunked down a dime and some pennies for Daredevil #47 when I was four, but I never had the chance to meet him. On that point, I envy you and your friend, Dan. Cheers to Gene "the Dean" Colan.

I had the honor of meeting Gene at a Comic Art Showcase in Jersey. He was one of the nicest people I've ever met. Gene did so much for comics - he was indeed one of the Giants in the business. Such a unique, bold, and powerful style - his art will never be duplicated. Rest In Peace, Gene.

They don't make 'em like Gene any more. People could learn a awful lot if they inspired to be more like him. Artists and human beings alike. He was the whole package.

Mere moments ago, I was informed that the legendary, Gene Colan had passed away. My heart is saddened with this news. Thank you for the heartfelt and admirable tribute left here, Michael. I, too had met Mr. Colan at the San Diego Co on several occasions. I found him always to be kind, humble, and generous with his time when it came to his fans. When I think of Iron Man, I don't think of Robert Downey Jr., I rather think of "Gentleman" Gene. Looking back on some classic artists ~ from the marvel bullpen ~ such as, Kirby, Buscema, Kane, Everett, Tuska, and Heck, Gene Colan will always stand proudly as an equal amongst them all. So in ending, thanks, Gene, for all the wonderful memories. Your legacy shall always endure as long as people live to appreciate the God-given talent that you shared with the world. May The Good Lord keep you, and Mrs. Colan, in peace with Him through eternity. Rest easy now, my friend. We'll all miss you

Have to agree with Daniel. Gene Colan was definitely one of the All-Stars of that legendary Marvel Bullpen. So solid and dependable. Decades and decades of consistent quality work. I think he was one of those guys who was so good for so long that at some point we might have started taking him for granted. But what an amazing body of work he leaves behind as his legacy! Certainly no doubt of his place in comics history. RIP

I only met Gene once, in a small comic shop years ago in Worcester, MA. As others have testified, Gene could not have been nicer, more humble and gracious, to my son and me.

Nice tribute page Michael to acknowledge a wonderful man and gift to the industry for sure. Anyone lucky enough to have met or gotten to know Gene and Adrienne is all too well aware of how they worked to embrace and give back to their fan base....Gene and Adrienne were "people persons" in every sense of the word. I will always be a fan! God Bless the Colans.

I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Gene Colan & his wife at a mini Comic-Con in 2007.  I recall that Gene was so humble and made time to chat with fan in the long line.
