Dan Brereton - Halloween Girl and the Gunwitch of the Nocturnals

YES! Absolutely overjoyed to have a painting from Dan!!

Ahem. As I mentioned before, Thrillkiller was the first time I saw Dan's work. I was talking about Dan with a buddy and he mentioned checking out his Nocturnals series (thanks for the tip, Todd!). When the Hardcovers came out, I did just that. I loved it! The characters, the noir vibe, the painted pages. I couldn't get enough!

Not long after, I reached out to Dan and we settled upon a commission of Eve and the Gunwitch. Here it is!! Absolutely love what Dan did with his characters. The Gunwitch just looks like as he should: tough, ready for action, and armed with a shotgun! Halloween Girl looks equally perfect, with her toy lantern and ghouls in tow, along with that pesky Devil Lantern. The detail in her cloak is equally impressive, too (like the hidden 23). And the colors? Wow. More than anything, I think of Dan's use of colors and this painting is no exception. This commissions is perfect!!
