Description

This Painting by illustrator Grant Powers, was used as the Cover to Joe Louis Vs. Max Baer 1935 and Joe Louis vs. Max Baer 1936 on site fight programs. Both Joe Louis Fights were held at Yankee Stadium.

The artwork was also used on the cover to a 1937 boxing card titled the Carnival of Champions, held at the Polo Grounds. Nice cover artwork, from the Golden Age of Boxing.

Stupendously historic. For a combo comic book & sports fan, owning stuff like this is akin to owning the cover art to early silver age Marvel covers!
