*** IF ANYONE KNOWS WHICH ISSUE OF BUYER'S GUIDE THIS APPEARS IN, I'D LOVE TO KNOW!! ***

This piece is quite possibly one of the earliest Savage Dragon original illustrations in existence.

Unfortunately, most of Erik's early work was destroyed in a fire at his home - so all of Dragon work pre-Image was lost.

This illustration was originally published in The Comic Buyer's Guide as the header for an article about Larsen's fanzine "Graphic Fantasy" in Joel Thingvall's column on small press publications entitled "Limited Edition".

The character shown here is an early version of Dragon, known as Paul Dragon. Obviously some changes came to the fin and overall character design in the intervening 10 years until the version of Dragon we saw in 1992's Image Comics debut.
