Description

I loved Russ's work on the "other" DC titles back in the early sixties. I picked up Sea Devils every now and then because of the art, but the characters did not hit me the way the Blackhawks did.
So when I ran into him at a convention, I asked him would he be kind enough to do me a commission. He said yes. I told him I wanted something with the Blackhawks including Lady Blackhawk and a war setting.

Five years ago already!?! Like the Hawks, time flies. Still one of my favorite commissions on CAF.

The skill this man has with a brush. it amazed me as a young artist working at Continuity. and still amazes me today.

Great Piece. I wonder if mine was done as a recreation version of yours with minor alterations and embelishments to differentiate them. I like your piece. Did you create (art direct) this concept? Your collection is magnificent!!!
