This is an exceptional strip from the most famous album in this series, marking the birth of the Smurfs. The strip is dominated by the humour of Peewit’s character and his
confrontation with Papa Smurf; with the latter here losing his calm as he rarely does. The final panel is the entire width of the fourth strip and shows one of the primary humoristic features of Johan and Peewit: music.
This panel provides the opportunity to discover for the first time one of the most recognised songs of the Smurfs, which would subsequently be used in many of their own adventures.

Exceptionnelle planche de l’album le plus célèbre de cette série, marqué par la naissance des Schtroumpfs. La planche est ici dominée par l’humour né du caractère de Pirlouit et de sa confrontation avec le Grand Schtroumpf ; ce dernier perdant ici son calme comme rarement. La dernière case faisant toute la largeur du 4ème strip reprend l’un des principaux ressorts de l’humour chez Johan et Pirlouit : la musique. Cette case est l’occasion
de découvrir pour la première fois l’une des chansons les plus connues des Schtroumpfs, qui sera ensuite reprise dans nombre de leurs propres aventures. Notons qu’il n’existe dans cet album que 9 planches se déroulant au Pays Maudit, où les Schtroumpfs sont présents.
Cet album est le seul de la série dont les planches sont mises en couleur au verso. Seule une partie de ces planches sont colorisées de la sorte, augmentant encore la rareté de ce procédé.
