Description

When I was a teenager and comic books still had letter columns, I was a reasonably enthusiastic letterhack for various DC books. When the third run of The Demon (one of my favourite series) was cancelled in 1995, I awoke one morning to find a surprise package from John McCrea at my door.

It was an amazing moment for a young fan, proving John McCrea is not only a great artist but also an all-round good guy: It gave me an example for how to deal with people that I've been trying to emulate ever since.

I've also been dragging the piece around the world with me for almost 20 years now. If you ever read this: Thanks again, John!
