Spongebob Squarepants

Darwyn Cooke was signing books and doing some sketches some years back on Free Comic Book Day at The Beguiling. And my youngest son, Gabriel, (probably six or seven at the time) asked him if he could do Spongebob Squarepants.

"I really don't know how to draw him," replied Mr. Cooke quite diplomatically. And I'm doing my best to telepathically link with my son: "Ask for Catwoman. Ask for Catwoman."

"He looks like this," replied my son and he holds up a copy of the Spongebob magazine that he had got for free (and therefore resisting our strong telepathic link)

So Darwyn looks at the picture and does him this sketch. Which I thought was just the most kind thing in the world for him to do.
