DescriptionWhat can I say but WOW!!! I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to make the NYCC this weekend until the end of last week. I saw artists posting their preorders biting my lip until my schedule was firm. The same day that I confirmed that I was able to go to the show Tom posted on Deviantart that he still had room on his list and was willing to take on more involved commissions. I jumped at the chance. I've admired Mr. Raney's work for quite some time but the timing never seemed right. I'm so glad that the stars aligned for me this time around. Tom did an AMAZING job and gave me something truly moving. There's so much to love about this but it's his eyes that makes the piece for me. Thank you Tom!! I can't wait to pick it up this weekend and thank you in person.****Sept. 2012 - My piece made the cut into Tom's first ever sketchbook. Thank you!!!!******* Social/Sharing |

Yeah, I immediately gravitated toward the look of utter sadness in his eyes. However, once the emotional element of the piece sunk in, I was amazed at how detailed and thoughtful the rest of the design elements were portrayed. The realism and muted blue tones only add to the sense of despair. Tom got everything right with this one, Patrick.

Somebody needs a hug! But seriously, this is really, really nice, and has inspired me to try to get something from Mr. Randy in the future. Congrats, Patrick!

Fantastic piece! The light blues tones inspire a chilling feel to the art and his eyes portray an uncanny look of serenity. A lot of different moods Mr. freeze is conveying, very, very, cool!

Such a great piece with the mood and lighting. Agree it has a certain sadness to it but it is a powerful image showing a side you rarely see of the character. Mr. Raney nailed it and he nailed it good. Congrats!
