(2002, Brush and ink on bristol, 5"x7" Live area)
Chapter 3 illustration for The Phoenix on the Sword from The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian (Wandering Star). Beautifully delicate brushstrokes tempered by spot blacks for contrast in this superbly dramatic illustration of Thoth Amon and the Serpent Ring of Set. Love it! Although not officially the same character as in the Conan movie (82) the whole cult of Set is so intriguing and is my favourite in Conan lore.
