Mutt and Jeff by Al Smith - (King Features Syndicate) Sunday, May 31, 1959 (Atom-Age)
Created by Bud Fisher (April 3, 1885 - September 7, 1954) in 1907 and syndicated by King Features in 1908, this ten-panel Sunday example by Al Smith (March 2, 1902 - November 24, 1986) features the title characters together in panels one through four, Bud and Cecil the zoo elephant in panels five through nine with Mutt rejoining the scene in the last panel.
