DescriptionI'm a fan of Scott's work ever since I first saw it on Mysterious Adventure Magazine. When he had some time last year for some commission work I jumped in and asked for another in my Joe Adventure Team series. This time they're on the verge of defeat at the hands of their greatest enemy - The Intruder! Well, he was their greatest enemy according to the comic adverts that came out at the time ;)I love the savage scruffiness that Scott gave the Intruder as well as the great angle he did this at. Plus I love that Joe's still got his gun in his hand - "From my cold, dead hand!". Original size 11x17 Social/Sharing |

I think I remember seeing that ad with the Intruder. Wasn't it drawn by John Romita Sr.? And isn't this our first time seeing Bulletman unmasked? Another triumph in the mighty Moorhead manner!

Another triumph in the mighty Moorhead manner!I've never been able to confirm whether JRSR did the art in those ads (he did do art for Big Jim and the Wild Pack) but it sure did look like his stuff. And, yeah, this is Bulletman's unmasking. If nothing else I do break new ground with my commissions :)

For a while I thought that Big Jim was DC while Joe was Marvel and, as I was a Marvel kid, I never saw them. I was talking with someone recently who said no, Jim was Marvel too. So I don't know why I don't recall them. Though, having seen this and masterful piece from Dusty Abell a Joe / Jim cross-over has been at the back of my mind.
