Don't know a lot about this but these were submitted when the ywere looking for an artist to take over Bcuk Rogers in the 1960's - Bud Gordineer decided to do it in a Calkins style not surprisingly he wasn't accepted given the syndicate had moved away from the Calkins style years before! Gordineer was a commercial artist who worked in a wide range of illustration markets. These were run in a zine at the time
