Amazing Spider-Man #244 was the first comic that I ever bought for myself.
I still have that tattered copy. It has traveled the Northwest with me through countless moves and is still in my collection to this day.
The original cover by John Romita Jr. actually was available for auction last year, and that would have been the grail of all time for me, but with a second child on the way, my wife would have killed me, and I'm not big time enough to pull that one off.
So, why not have some artists pay homage to it? The first I picked was Shelby Robertson, who has a love for Spider-Man that I have rarely seen from another artist, so it was easy to choose.
Shelby's rates are great and the turnaround is spectacular.
