DescriptionFans were always asking for Jerry's autograph. As the writer/creator of Superman, he never fancied himself an artist & that was his lifelong best friend Joe Shuster's department. But Jerry got tired of just signing his name so he'd occasionally draw a Superman profile for fans who were especially nice and wanted something really special. He enjoyed drawing the strong jawed, determined face of Superman & the way he mentally pictured him whenever he thought of his most famous creation. During the last few days of 1977 and just after New Year's 1978 Jerry, who was 63 at the time, did a drawing each day and added whatever words came to mind that he wanted to share on that particular day. The results are rare looks inside the private thoughts of the Man of Steel's creator Jerry Siegel. The inscription reads "Superman...The infant from the planet Krypton who, on Earth, grew up to become the Man of Steel! -- Jerry Siegel 12-30-77 Click here to bid on this item at ComicConnect.com!
