Robertson - Mrs Bunty's Boarding School

Mrs Bunty's Boarding School in BUBBLES. Dated 18 May 1932. Walter (Wally) Robertson attended Glasgow School of Art. He started working for the Amalgamated Press (AP) in 1914 drawing for comic titles Chips, Merry & Bright and Butterfly. After the 1914-1918 war (he served in the Sixth London Regiment) he returned to Art School (Heatherley's) and while there submitted work to magazines such as Passing Show and London Opinion. Robertson then returned to the AP and during the Golden Age of the 1930s his work appeared in every important funnies title including Funny Wonder, Jester, Crackers, Comic Cuts, Larks, Joker, Jolly and Jingles. In the 1950s he drew for the comics of Gerald Swan and titles issued by Martin & Reid.
