Description
In my brief time getting convention sketches, one of the first and regular purchases I make is from Laurie B!. She has done two of my theme characters, Superman Blue and Andrea from ST:TOS. I was wondering what to get at Dragon*Con 2011. If you've seen her other pieces on CAF, Laurie B!'s forte is making cute girl versions of nearly anybody. KISS, Han Solo, the monsters from the Monster Cereals, virtually anybody. A few weeks before, my thought was "Sixth Doctor".

I wasn't sure so right up until I went up to her table I was thinking Girl Doc 6 or finally having a piece done of Judge JB from Bravestarr. Judge JB being the centerpiece of what has the most hits on my CAF. I did present both reference sheets to Laurie. She did like the possible challenge of drawing a dolled up Doctor.

There was a slight sticking point when she saw the Colin Baker photo I use as part of my Sixth Doc reference and said, "I can't make that hair sexy." Since I had been giving thought to it for a couple weeks, I gave her the modification of making it long, blonde, and curly.

With that out of the way, she knocked it out of the park. This year she started using Copics instead of colored pencils for convention pieces and the result was gorgeous.

Now, what should I get for D*C2012?
