Harry Tuthill - Bungle Family - 1929 Stock Market Crash

This may be my favorite of the Bungle Family dailies that I own. I absolutely love the soliloquy that George spouts through the last three panels of the strip. The piece was published on October 28, 1929, right during the heart of the stock market crash of 1929, though Tuthill was likely working months ahead of the crash and could not conceive of what was to come. I've added a Brooklyn newspaper headline on this very date for context.

Harry Tuthill was one of the truly great comic strip writers and a strip like this is a good example of his writing excellence.
