Description
As you have probably noticed I am pretty much a sucker when it comes to charity auctions. I enjoy knowing that I have helped a great cause as well as getting great art at the same time. This is another one of those times. This piece titled "Red Meets Alice" is by "Red's Planet" creator Eddie Pittman. The piece was donated to Team Cul de Sac to be included in their book "Team Cul De Sac: Cartoonists Draw the Line at Parkinson’s". All of the pieces were then auctioned by Heritage Galleries and the proceeds were donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease Research.

When I first saw Eddie post his piece way back in June of 2011 I immediately liked the piece. It was so cute how Red was meeting Alice from Cul de Sac and saying they are both surrounded by "weird and freakish creatures". I have really enjoyed Eddie's work since I first discovered Red's Planet and have a few pen and ink pieces by him but didn't have a watercolor so I really wanted the piece. I was able to get it and was surprised it didn't go for more since it was for such a great cause. I am pleased to have another great piece by Eddie in the collection.
